Pre Head Swap Checklist
If everything goes as planned, I will be swapping my y7 head onto my b7 block this weekend. And I'm wanting to create a pre install checklist on here to see if any of you can spot something that I'm missing. I want to have everything for the swap and don't want to have to make multiple trips to the parts store. I guess so you all can make an accurate assessment on what I need, here is what I'm using in the swap:
d16y7 head (stock rebuild)
d15b7 block (in the Sol now)
d15b7 head bolts (since I'm going non-VTEC I should not have to worry about the upper left corner head bolt, b7 should work)
d15b7 distributor
d16z6 intake manifold
d16z6 throttle body
AEM TRU-TIME adjustable camshaft gear
SSAutoChrome 4-1 header
That should give you a good idea as to what components I'm using for this build. Now as for my pre installation parts list, here is what I have listed so far:
d16y8 head gasket: ...........................................................................PN: 99159T $36.99
d16z6 intake manifold gasket .............................................................. PN: MS91485 $6.99
d16y7 exhaust manifold gasket ............................................................PN: MS94118-1 $16.99
d16y7 timing belt ..............................................................................PN: T224 $29.99
d16y7 valve cover gasket kit ...............................................................PN: VS50500R $12.99
d16y7 stock temp thermostat ..............................................................PN: 3187 $9.99
d16y7 thermostat gasket ....................................................................PN: 35480 $3.99
d16y8 NGK V-Power spark plugs (for higher compression) ..........................PN: 2262 $9.96
d16y7 NGK spark plug wires .................................................................PN: HE76 $42.67
pre-mixed antifreeze/coolant
All part numbers and prices are from O'Reilly's but I'm sure a lot of these numbers will cross reference with other stores.
This is all that I can come up with right now, if you see anything I'm missing please post it up. I'm wanting this thing to fire up and be ready to go the first time around, thanks.

Haha, well I don't feel like I know what I'm doing all the time. But the head swap is done, and I have an issue direct yourself to my new post, since it's a new topic. I'll also be posting this issue on HT and DSO, I'm kind of stumped and NEED my car by Monday...
Re: Pre Head Swap Checklist
I may have a 99 y8 over the next week or 2 if your interested. Also I have a DC Sport 4-1 header. I will take $50 for. It had been bottomed out and flattened. I cut those spots out and plated over it. Needs a new coat of paint. They go for $300 new so I dont think $50 and a coat of VTH paint is a bad deal.
Should have read everything before I posted. Damn noob mistake. lol.
